Paton School Monument Project

The citizens of the Paton area and alumni of the Paton School have embarked on an ambitious project to commemorate our school. We would like a substantial memorial, something more than just a plaque or something that looks like a head stone, something that includes the people that the school meant so much to, something interesting enough that people would want to come and see it.

Our goal is to construct a structure using as many elements from the high school building as possible that you can enter, and inside see the names and messages engraved on bricks from the people who were the school- students, teachers, administration, and the community.

Please help us achieve our goal. Most of all we need cash donations. We are also selling engraved bricks to be displayed in the memorial, and we have a limited number of original bricks from the high school laser engraved with a drawing of the high school.

MONUMENT UPDATE

IT'S BUILT.....NOW YOU CAN COME AND CHECK IT OUT!!

You will notice that there is an empty space in the middle pillar. There will be an etching of all three school buildings on stone and completion of this is expected some time this winter.

We think we need to continue (with again..everyone's help!) the project with first of all a cement pad for easy walking around the monument. We are trying for grants and future fundraisers.

Next proper lighting and a bench would be nice. As far as landscaping...keep it simple for easy maintenance. A BLACK pot with RED flowers is just one idea.
